A visit to Kutna Hora

The bone Church in Kutna Hora, near Prague

Kostnice is a one place which we should not miss when we visit Prague. It just looks like a regular church from outside.

But there is something more. The complete building is decorated by human bones. You will just get shocked looking at so many bones. One question which immediately comes in your mind is where all these bones came from.

The bones came from victims of the 14th plague and the 15th-century Bohemian Wars; both events left thousands dead, who were buried in mass graves on the church's site. As the area developed, the bones were uncovered, and the local monks came up with this idea of how to put the bones to use.

These are some snaps which I have taken when we visited this place recently.
